Super Nova

In 2022 Anna Marchlewska directed and acted in her second short movie “Super Nova”. The film presents a world inspired by her own photos and raises the awareness of climate change. In her artwork, she embodies an imaginary goddess who wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world destroyed by the human kind. Her sadness and despair eventually allow nature to rise from its ashes.

The film is also a collaboration between Anna Marchlewska and the band „Nova Materia”. On the border between rock and electronic, their music for “Super Nova” incorporates eerie sounds generated by raw and mineral materials, recordings of Patagonian wind and Reunionese birds.

The Parisian architect and sound designer, Patrick Daumont alias Dada, actively supervised all stages of the film's creation: costume, filming and post-production.

“Super Nova” was edited by the French director, Kamil Olejnik whose last film “Echo” received 29 awards at festivals all over the world.

The film was presented at the Saturnia Art Festival in Sorano, Italy and at the Venice Biennale at the Centro Espositivo San Vidal from June to September 2022.
